Your Path to Sales Success

My journey began in 1971 after leaving the Army and accepting my first job as a commission-based sales representative with a national appliance company. I had no formal sales training, no sales experience, and the weakest dealer network in the company. Most months, I barely earned enough to cover my gas, phone and business expenses and support my wife and newborn baby.
Failure was NOT an option!


That pressure forced me to search for answers. I quickly realized that my sales success depended on helping my dealers become more successful at selling. If they sold more, I sold more. So, I began studying everything I could find about sales, customer behavior, marketing, and business development. I read books, articles, trade magazines, and sales manuals late into the night, searching for the principles that separated struggling businesses from successful ones.
What I discovered changed my career.
Most business owners were struggling with the same challenge I faced; they simply had never been taught how to sell effectively either. They had great products, strong work ethics, and good intentions, but no clear sales process for attracting customers, building trust, and converting interest into revenue.
As I began sharing sales techniques, customer strategies, and practical business development ideas with my dealers, something remarkable happened. Their sales improved. Their confidence grew. Their businesses became stronger. And as they succeeded, my own sales success followed.
That experience launched a lifelong passion for helping businesses grow through better sales thinking, better customer communication, and better sales systems.
Today, after decades as a sales representative, trainer, coach, consultant, and business development advisor, I created “The Path to Sales Success… For Start-Ups and Growing Companies” to help entrepreneurs and small business owners avoid the confusion, frustration, and costly mistakes that prevent so many businesses from growing.
